Privacy policy
Effective July 5, 2026 · Spencer Morley Consulting, Edmonton, Alberta
This policy explains what information we collect through spencermorleyconsulting.ca and its related domains (including discoverabilityindex.ca), why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it in plain language on purpose.
What we collect
Information you send us. When you request a consultation, a free Visibility Check, or email us, we receive what you provide — typically your name, business name, city, and contact details. We use it to respond and deliver what you asked for, and for no other purpose without asking.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4). With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, device type. This data is aggregated; we don't use it to identify you personally.
Advertising (Meta Pixel). With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel so we can show relevant ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this site, and measure whether those ads work. Meta receives standard event data such as the pages you visited.
Consent comes first
Neither Google Analytics nor the Meta Pixel runs until you choose "Accept" on our privacy banner. If you decline, the site works exactly the same — no tracking loads. Your choice is remembered for up to 12 months, and you can change it any time:
Where your data goes
Google and Meta process data on servers that may be located outside Canada, including in the United States. Information transferred to these providers is subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. Form submissions come to us directly and are stored in our business systems in Canada where practical.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your information, ever.
- We don't share form submissions with third parties for their marketing.
- We don't collect sensitive categories of information, and we ask you not to include any in form submissions.
How long we keep it
Contact and inquiry records are kept as long as needed to serve you and meet legal obligations, then deleted. Analytics data retention is set to Google's minimum available period. Meta Pixel audience data expires automatically (site-visitor audiences are limited to 180 days).
Your rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law (including Quebec's Law 25 and Alberta's PIPA), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Other opt-outs
- Google Analytics browser opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Meta ad preferences: facebook.com/adpreferences
- Your browser's settings can also block cookies and tracking site-wide.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Material changes will be flagged on the privacy banner.
